1st Place!

This Friday the band and chorus from my my school, which I'm both in, competed agaisnt other schools and thousands of kids at the Hershey Park competition.

And very long story short...We got 4 first place awards!! They were:

  • 1st place chorus for junior high
  • 1st place band for junior high
  • 1st place overall for chorus of all the schools, junior high and middle school
  • 1st place overall for band of all the schools, junior high and middle school

Here's all the pictures I took throughout the day

Some of my friends and me, being bored on the 2 and a half hour bus drive.

^ There's one of the many rows of buses, and if you look closely in the backround, you'll see the building were we had to meet for the award ceremony.

Here's some pictures of the entrance to the park, and my friends and me.

And finally, pictures of the trophies!

The ride home was actually pretty exciting too.
My friend Joey asked out my other friend Ashley in front of the whole bus and she said yes. They're really cute together :D
And our busdriver got pulled over because he was doing 82 miles an hour.

So, I saw My Chemical Romance at Bamboozle. Let me tell you, they were freaking amazing. Not to mention all the other bands that were great too. Plus I got to go crowdsurfing :D very cool.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to take any pictures of my friends and I at the festival since cameras weren't allowed in. Plus, I wasn't anywhere near close enough to the stages to get good pictures with my crappy cell phone camera.
The only really bad part about going to bamboozle was the huge amounts of people. Seriously, if you were in the front of the stage you'd end up getting pushed and stepped on the whole time. Oh, and all the drunk people there were annoying. But it was worth it to see M.C.R. with my friends. Plus, I've got a ton of funny/stupid/weird stories to tell people now.

Oh, and I've found out news about where M.C.R. got food poisoning from. It turns out they got sick in Williamsburg, West Virginia with salmonella poisoning at the Green Leaf cafe. A lot of angry fans are actually sending death threat letters to the owners. Wow...

I'm also excited about Friday next week. That's the day my choir is competing against choirs from all over my state at Hershey Park. I'll probably be able to take some pictures from that.

On Sunday a couple of my friends and I went to go see My Chemical Romance and Muse in concert. We had purchased these tickets 3 months or so in advance and I was extremly looking foward to their concert.
So, after a 3 hour drive we finally get to the stadium where they're performing...only to find out that they were cancelled. As you can guess, that majorally sucked. There's speculations that the band couldn't perform because they got food poisoning. Having drove for many hours we weren't ready to go home yet, so we hung out around the area and went to the Chili's. It wasn't bad, but of course it wasn't as great as a concert.

But there's still hope to see MCR!!

This Saturday I'll be going to Bamboozle, where My Chemical Romance and Muse are headlining.
For those of you who aren't familar, Bamboozle is a kick ass festival where over 70 bands will be performing. Besides My Chemical Romance and Muse, my friends Jen, Mike and Jeremy want to see Bayside, Hellogoodbye, Patent Pending, Say Anything, The Sunstreak, The Hush Sound, and Kelly, among other bands.

So if you want to check out their official website for the full lineup and info here's a link: www.thebamboozle.com

P.S. I should be getting the Phantom of the Opera pictures from my New York trip developed soon. I'll post them as soon as I can.

Snowday...in April

I can't believe I actually had a snowday today. Its the middle of April and we've just gotten 6+ inches. Stupid snow. So anyway... on Friday my Envirothon team got first place!! Geek Power! :D But the extremely cool news I have is all about the Phantom of the Opera trip that was Saturday. I took tons of pictures, but unfortunately I haven't been able to get them developed yet what with the snow and all (Yes, I still don't have a digital camera) . In a short while I'll have all the pictures transfered to a disk and I'll post them here with a full story.

Happy Bunny Day

Wow...I haven't posted in a while. Don't worry you didn't miss much. Right now I'm just enjoying my way too short spring brake and procrastinating practicing my flute/studying.

I am actually looking foward to next week though. I finally get to see Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. It's a field trip for chorus and I've been looking foward to it for a while.
Not to mention I've also got another science (Envirothon) competition thing next week.
Did I mention how big a nerd I am? :D

Hopefully I'll have some pictures of both events.

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't posted in so long. I've been having a pretty bad week. Someone stole my iPod. :( It was probably partly my own fault, and I feel like such an idiot right now. Not to mention I'm going through iPod withdrawal right now. Totally sucks.

Anyway, this post isn't just going to be my sob story. I've got some good news too! Stephenie Meyer has posted not only the release date of her freakin' amazing new book Eclipse, but also a short synopsis and the cover. Here's a link to it:
www.stepheniemeyer.com/eclipse.html

And, while we're talking about Stephenie's books, more good news. New Moon is back to #1 on the New York Times Bestseller List.

Snowtubing Rocks!

I went snowtubing on Saturday with my friend Jen. And I love it a whole lot better than skiing. Our freakin awesome time snowtubing included (but not limited to) falling off and rolling from the tubes, cheating the park by Jen staying an extra hour, me saving us from getting caught, family tube rides (which are MUCH more funner than singles), a guy in a green hat hitting on Jen, annoying the workers, falling in lots of hay, standing by a fire pit like hobos, and the drinking of crappy coffee. Good times, good times.
Although I forgot to take pictures of all the tubes and snow and stuff when I got home I took a picture of my pass. Yay.

Ironside Release Date

So, Holly Black's next marvelous book, Ironside, will be coming out May 5th, 2007. Here's one of the first great reviews for it. www.teensreadtoo.com/Ironside.html

Happy Singles Awarness Day!!

So Happy belated Valentine's Day, or instead of Valentines Day as I like to call it, Happy Singles Awareness Day!

There's so much snow! I've gotten over 12 inches here, and its still snowing. Good thing is, we've gotten 2 snow days straight in a row. That almost makes up for all the backbraking shoveling I had to do yesterday. Almost. Here's a pic of some of the snow yesterday.
