Alannah tells the truth--her grandparents did go to Ireland. I know, because I'm her grandmother, and we had a great time. We saw some fairly gross corpses that had been dug up from the Middle Ages that might have resulted from--ugh--human sacrifices and explored a castle in a seaside town where James Joyce, the greatest Irish author, taught school. Ate great food--but it was Indian, not Irish!
